The indie distributor has purchased the long-gestating “We Are As Gods,” from the administrators of the 2017 Invoice Nye documentary “Invoice Nye: Science Man,” David Alvarado and Jason Sussman. The documentary, which premiered at SXSW in 2021, will probably be launched in New York and Los Angeles on Aug. 12.
